Manhattan Beach Parks and Rec Leaders Honored

Recognizing their leadership, creativity, and dedication to the community, the California Park & Recreation Society (CPRS) has bestowed special honors on two parks and recreation leaders from Manhattan Beach.

Idris Jassim Al-Oboudi, Manhattan Beach Parks and Recreation Department Recreation Services Manager, has been selected as a 2015 CPRS Service Award of Excellence - Fellowship/Hall of Fame recipient. The Fellowship/Hall of Fame is CPRS' highest award to honor and recognize individuals who have significantly contributed to and influenced CPRS and the parks and recreation profession throughout their career.

Tom Allard, Manhattan Beach Parks and Recreation Commissioner, has been selected as a 2015 CPRS Service Award of Excellence - Champion of the Community recipient. The Champion of the Community award honors and recognizes individuals or organizations who have contributed significant effort to influence and improve the quality of their community through parks and recreation.

Both Al-Oboudi and Allard will be recognized at the CPRS awards banquet at the Hyatt Regency Long Beach on March 11, 2016.
