New Toddler Town Offers Farm-to-Table Fun

Jan 10, 2016 08:10PM ● By Jeanne Fratello
Healthy play equals healthy kids - That's the philosophy of the new Toddler Town, opening on January 16 at AdventurePlex. The new play center will appeal to kids ages 0 to 5 with "farm-to-table" fun at a play farm, market, and house.

A grand opening and family expo, to be held from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 16, will feature free admission, arts and crafts, food samples, and more.

The new center offers three special play areas: the Farm, where toddlers can pretend to rake, plant, and harvest fruits and vegetables in the play garden and pluck fresh fruits off the trees on the walls; the Toddler Town Market, where kids can fill a shopping cart with healthy foods harvested straight from the farm; and the Beach Home, where kids can play in the kitchen and pretend to prepare their healthy food that they put on the table.

Toddlers can join in for drop-in play for $10 per session, Monday through Friday. A variety of classes will also be offered, such as Toddler Movement, Stroller Fitness, Parent-Tot Yoga, and more.

Memberships are available ($129 per month or $99/month for three months and $89/month for six months - with reduced rates available for siblings). Memberships include 8 classes per month, unlimited drop-in play on weekdays, two parent lectures per month, special events, and a daily members-only hour from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m.

Toddler Town is also available for birthday parties.

The new center is part of the Beach Cities Health District's LiveWell Tots and LiveWell Kids anti-obesity programs.
