Sandpipers Present 23rd Annual Holiday Homes Tour

Four local homes will be dressed to the nines this weekend, as the Sandpipers unveil their 23rd annual Holiday Homes Tour. The homes, in Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, and Redondo Beach, will be open on December 4, 5, and 6 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily. (The Redondo Beach home is Saturday only.)

The homes include:

774 31st Street, Manhattan Beach - "Tropics in the Trees"

This Cape Cod style home located in the tree section of Manhattan Beach was designed by Alegre Mackenzie Architecture with a backyard "oasis" by JDS Outdoor Designs. The home will feature accessories and holiday décor from Tabula Rasa; seasonal floral arrangements by Lily Pad Floral Design; and a wreath, trees, garland, and poinsettias from International Garden Center,  Boulevard Florist, and Living Christmas Tree Company.

648 Gould Avenue, Hermosa Beach - "Bali at the Beach"

This home built by architect Doug Leach and contractor LuAnn Development features amazing views from Palos Verdes to Point Magu. Decorations will include custom-made floral arrangements from Growing Wild; accessories and décor from Gum Tree; and a wreath, trees, garland, and poinsettias from International Garden Center, Boulevard Florist and Living Christmas Tree Company.

640 19th Street, Manhattan Beach - "Classic Contemporary"

This contemporary home was custom built and designed by architect Frank Glynn with SAGA Architecture with interiors designed by designer Barbara Barry of Barbara Barry, Inc. Shanna Shryne Designs contributed the holiday accessories; floral arrangements were created by Deep Roots Garden Center & Florist; and International Garden Center, Boulevard Florist and Living Christmas Tree Company provided the wreath, trees, garland and poinsettias.

632 South Irena Avenue, Redondo Beach - "Coastal Farm House"

This coastal farmhouse in South Redondo Beach was completed in May 2015 by Gary Lane of Lane Design Build. The homeowner, an interior designer and owner of Zing Design, played a key role in all decisions. The festive accessories and holiday décor have been staged by Lavish Gift & Home of Hermosa Beach; Magical Blooms created the floral arrangements throughout the home. International Garden Center, Boulevard Florist and Living Christmas Tree Company provided the wreath, trees, garland and poinsettias.

The tour also features two additional stops: The Holiday Market - featuring farm-to-table food and crafts from local artisans - will be open to the public from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Neptunian Woman’s Club. On Sunday, December 6, the market will have a special visit from Santa from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The market is open to the public and admission is free. Throughout the weekend a free shuttle service will be provided with stops at each of the homes and the market.

Additionally, there will be a Rooftop Happy Hour event on Sunday, December 6, from noon to 5:00 p.m., at 1419 Highland Avenue in Manhattan Beach.  This special stop on the tour is also open to the public and features delicious food, beer & wine and live entertainment.

Proceeds from the tour will benefit over 60 local charities in the South Bay as well as individuals and families in need of financial assistance.

Sandpipers is a 100% volunteer organization dedicated to serving the needs of the South Bay community through charitable and philanthropic programs. Sandpipers is celebrating 84 years of philanthropic outreach to those most in need in the community. Over the years, Proceeds from the event benefit South Bay families, individuals and non-profits in need through Sandpipers’ philanthropic outreach such as their holiday baskets, back-to-school shopping, emergency casework, college scholarship and community grant programs.
