Ever been waited on...by a cop? You'll get your chance on Thursday, October 8, when the Manhattan Beach Police Department and Tin Roof Bistro team up for their popular annual Tip-A-Cop fundraiser.

From 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., members of the police department will work as celebrity guest servers at the restaurant. Officers will be accepting tips from patrons to benefit Special Olympics South Bay athletes.

All tips made during the event are a tax-deductible donation to the Special Olympics organization, which offers athletic training and competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities in the South Bay.

Manhattan Beach Police Department members are active supporters of the Special Olympics organization. The MBPD participates each year in the Law Enforcement Torch Run Final Leg for Special Olympics Southern California. Officers carry the "Flame of Hope" 1,500 miles through 200 communities, with the final leg ending at the opening ceremony of the Special Olympics Summer Games.

Reservations are recommended for the popular Tin Roof Bistro event. Call 310-939-0900 to reserve your spot.
