TEDx Manhattan Beach Tickets Now On Sale

"What's next?" is a question asked by entrepreneurs, artists, scientists, and dreamers who dare to think not about how things are but about how things could be - and that's the question that will be leading the annual TEDx Manhattan Beach event on Saturday, November 14.

Tickets are now on sale for the event, which will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Manhattan Beach MIddle School. Tickets will cost $85 for regular admission; $35 for seniors and high school students; $15 for high school student "come and go" passes; and $40 for a post-event dinner with the speakers at El Torito in Manhattan Beach.

Breakfast, lunch, and snacks are included for all passes. A hot breakfast and latte bar will open at 8:00 a.m.

This year's TEDx Manhattan Beach event will showcase 12 scientists, teachers, entrepreneurs, artists, moms, dads, and students.

Speakers include Lula Washington, founder and artistic director of the Lula Washington Dance Theater, who has trained thousands of low-income youth have in her inner-city dance studio; Ted Schilowitz, the "futurist" at 20th Century Fox, where he works on the constantly evolving art and science of advanced motion picture creation; and Teo Alfero, the founder of Wolf Connection, a project that combines animal rescue with youth empowerment and education programs designed to support teens and young adults.

Popular local columnist Paul Silva will return as host of the event. Lead sponsors are Manhattan Beach Education Foundation (MBEF), the City of Manhattan Beach, and the Manhattan Beach Unified School District.

Interested? TEDx organizers are urging community members to buy their tickets soon, as tickets have sold out for the last two years.

A TEDx event is a locally produced TED event. TED is a nonprofit devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks of 18 minutes or less.
