Restore Mind, Body, and Soul at Meditation Workshops

Sep 04, 2015 04:11PM ● By Jeanne Fratello
Looking for a moment of peace, now that school has started and the kids are out of the house? Fit On Studios wants to help you restore your body and your mind with free meditation workshops on September 8 and 10.

The meditation workshops, taught by popular meditation and yoga instructor Kim Digilio, will be held from 10:45 to 11:15 a.m. on both days at the Manhattan Beach location on Sepulveda Blvd. The class is aimed to provide participants of all experience levels with tools to become more deeply connected to one's breath, body and mind, for more relaxation, focus, and productivity.

"The hardest part, just with any new routine, is getting started," said Digilio. "We say things like 'I should meditate, but...I can't, I don't have time, I don't think I can clear my head, etc.'  I'm looking forward to helping FitOn clients start to cultivate pockets of space to give their minds a chance to slow down. With some basic tools like breath awareness, we emerge with more clarity and focus that we can apply to ourselves, our families, our partners, our professions, and so on."

“This is a good time of year for parents who are sending their kids back to school to take some time for themselves,” added Angela Bennett, co-owner of Fit On Studios. "Meditation does for the mind what exercise does for the body."

The half-hour sessions are free on the September 8 and 10 time slots. The meditation workshops will continue in the following weeks at a cost of $10 per session (or included in the FitOn monthly membership.)
