At the annual celebration, guests are asked to wear all white in honor of Walk With Sally's founder Nick Arquette's mother Sally. According to the Walk With Sally organization, Sally Arquette was diagnosed with cancer while Nick was growing up and believed in the healing power of the color white. Throughout the world the symbolism of the color white claims to stimulate a person's own divine nature into healing one's self, known as the "White Light of Healing and Protection." In honor of that belief, Walk With Sally invites guests to come together on a beautiful summer night to celebrate hope, healing, and everyone that has come to battle cancer.
Walk With Sally is a non-profit based in Los Angeles and is committed to providing healing and comfort to children debilitated by the emotional experience of living with or losing a parent or sibling to cancer. This healing is facilitated through free of charge mentoring support programs and services that provide an emotionally safe environment for children to share their difficult experience with someone who has suffered the same.
