The Manhattan Beach Little League Junior All-Stars are one win away from going to the World Series two years in a row. The team of 13-and 14-year-olds plays a team from Pearl City, Hawaii today (Wednesday) August 12 to determine who will represent the West Region in Taylor, Michigan.

The MBLL team walloped the Northern California representative 14-0 Tuesday to advance to the championship game. "We played our most complete game of the summer," Manager Keith Ramsey told DigMB.

That "complete" game included Dylan Dennis again leading the team at the plate, exploding with a triple and a double, and three RBIs. Dylan, who returns from last year's squad, also scored three times.

Merrick Baldo, another return player from last year's West Regional Tournament championship team, dominated at the plate and on the mound, throwing a three-hit shutout, pitching all seven innings. The ace pitcher struck out four batters in the process.

Merrick "was absolutely dominant," said Ramsey. "I never felt like they were going to score with him on the mound."
