Aug 10, 2015 06:58AM ● By Jeanne Fratello

MBLL player Jared Karros starts on the mound in Manhattan Beach's victory over the Sandpoint, Idaho team.

Representing all of Southern California in Sunday's West Regional Tournament, the Manhattan Beach Little League All Stars trounced their counterparts from Sandpoint, Idaho, 16-1

The game, held in Vancouver, Washington, was ended after 5 innings due to the mercy rule.

Now the Manhattan Beach team, in the Junior division featuring 13- and 14-year olds from Manhattan Beach and Hermosa Beach, has a shot at making it to the Little League World Series. The team will need to win one more regular pool play contest and a semi-finals matchup. The overall West Regional Tournament winner will advance to the 2015 Junior League World Series.

"Jared Karros gave us a great start on the mound and our boys took a terrific approach at the plate," said MBLL Manager Keith Ramsey after Sunday's game. "We got quality relief efforts from Matt Devico and Cooper Sutherland as well. Dylan Dennis had 4 RBIs and Cooper also had two hits and an RBI."

The Manhattan Beach team will play a team from Beaverton, Oregon, on Monday at 1 p.m.

The MBLL Jr. All-Star roster is:
