Registration for classes and programs in the fall Manhattan Beach Parks and Recreation activity guide begins Monday, August 10 for MB residents. Activities begin the week of Sept. 24.

Online registration begins at 6 a.m. on Monday; Other registration modes include mail, walk-in, and fax.

The City of Manhattan Beach offers a full scope of classes and activities in aquatics and tennis, and for tots, youths, teens, adults, and older adults.

One of the new classes offered is "Star Wars, Lego Movie" in which participants will take their fascination with Legos to the next level as Movies by Kids helps kids create a Stop-Motion animation movie using Star Wars Legos. Kids will select their side of the force, and equip their Jedi and Sith with the light saber of their choice. The ideas are the kids, the sets will be built by each participant, and each kid will operate all the equipment to bring his or her masterpiece to the big screen. This class is the ultimate chance to play with Legos and make them come to life using the art of Stop-Motion-Animation. All movies will be available via Dropbox.

Nonresident registration begins Monday, August 24.
