Beach enthusiasts swam, paddled, and spiked their way to glory on Sunday in the final events of the 2015 International Surf Festival.

The morning began with the Velzy-Stevens Paddleboard race, heading from the Manhattan Beach Pier to the Hermosa Beach Pier. It drew 141 paddlers, with top finisher Max First of Los Angeles taking a commanding lead and finishing in 16:24. Bailey Rosen was the first female finisher with a time of 19:33.

Next up was the popular Dwight Crum Pier-to-Pier Swim, which follows the reverse course, beginning at the Hermosa Beach Pier and ending at the Manhattan Beach Pier. More than 1,000 swimmers completed the 2.4-mile race in swimsuit and wetsuit divisions.

In the swimsuit division, 19-year-old Kevin Fink of San Pedro took top honors with a time of 40:14. Kelsey Cummings of El Segundo was the women's champion, coming in only seconds behind with a time of 40:31. In the wetsuit division, the top male and female finishers were Ryan Kvalvik of Playa Vista and Katie Gage of Ventura, with times of 47:09 and 52:05, respectively.

This year's events also featured the First Annual Junior 6-Man Volleyball Tournament, open to boys and girls ages 10 to 18. Team Hawaiian Punch and Team Dr. Seuss won backpacks and volleyballs, respectively, in the costume competition.

Closer to the water, kids and families participated in the MB Sand Castle competition sponsored by the Manhattan Beach Parks and Recreation Department.
