A win against an All-Star team from Brawley tonight catapults the Manhattan Beach/Hermosa Beach Little League Junior All-Stars to the final tournament that produces the team that secures a World Series berth.

The team defeated Brawley 10-4 in front of Brawley's home crowd in a game that included high humidity and heat.

The team of youths from MB and HB got the lead in the first inning, going up 1-0 but went under at 1-4 after the second inning of play.

The Team then tied things up in the fourth inning, going ahead 6-4 in the fifth. In an explosive seventh inning, the crew scored four runs, going up 10-4.

Matt DeVico and James Park both hit in two runs off the bench, making key hits.

On defense, the MB/HB Little League Junior All-Stars made some errors, giving life to Brawley. Overall, the team's "bend, but don't break" defense pulled through.

Dylan Dennis pitched a complete game, securing yet another victory for his team. Manager Keith Ramsey says the win was a "complete team effort."

The boys play tonight (Friday, July 31) at 7:30 p.m. in Brawley against Brawley in a best of 3 series. If they win, they'll leave Sunday to represent Southern California in the Little League Junior West Region Tournament in  Vancouver, WA.
