Crab Benedict at Fishing With Dynamite
The small but acclaimed seafood house is now open on Saturdays and Sundays at 10:00 and will serve brunch items in addition to the regular menu.
Brunch enthusiasts can now enjoy mid-morning treats such as chilaquiles with Peads and Barnett's pork shoulder, corn tortillas, red-eye salsa, and eggs ($13); crab Benedict with crab cake, tomato, arugula, poached egg, and bernaise ($15); Nueske's bacon and waffles with black pepper butter and bourbon maple syrup ($10); or shrimp and grits with Geechie Boy white corn grits, shrimp, gumbo sauce, and a free range egg ($13).
New beverage offerings include the Pace Car, a sparkling cocktail with Cocci Americano, Racer 5, Aperol, lemon, and agave ($12.50); and a house-made Michelada ($12.50).
Fishing With Dynamite was created by Chef David LeFevre in 2013 following the roaring success of his first solo endeavor, the nearby MB Post. The seafood restaurant seats approximately thirty-five guests with a combination of tables, a raw bar, and a cocktail bar. (Aside from creating the new brunch menu at Fishing With Dynamite, LeFevre has been busy opening a new steakhouse, 'The Arthur J', further south on Manhattan Avenue.)
Fishing With Dynamite was named one of the "38 Essential Los Angeles Restaurants" by Eater L.A. in April 2015 and was named Best Oyster House by L.A. Magazine in 2013. Two weeks ago, Eater included Fishing With Dynamite's "Mother Shucker" platter on its list of the top 12 seafood platters in L.A.
Fishing With Dynamite is located at 1148 Manhattan Ave., Manhattan Beach. It is open Saturdays 10:00 am - 10:30 pm; Sundays 10:00 am - 10:00 pm; Monday - Wednesday 11:30am–10pm, Thursday - Friday 11:30am–10:30pm. 310-893-6299.
