Free Movie in the Park on Saturday: Big Hero 6

May 12, 2015 09:40AM ● By Jeanne Fratello
Get your blankets and picnic baskets ready - it's movie time at Polliwog Park! On Saturday, May 16, the Manhattan Beach Parks and Recreation Department will host its 4th annual Movie in the Park, with a showing of Disney Animation Studio's Big Hero 6 starting at 7:45 p.m.

The movie is free -  no reservations are necessary - and seating will be available in the amphitheater. Those bringing beach chairs are asked to bring low-back chairs to preserve the view for all participants.

The event coincides with the city's 20th annual Family Camp-Out, which will be held on the field adjacent to Begg Pool.

“Big Hero 6” is an action-packed comedy adventure that introduces Baymax, a lovable, personal companion robot, who forms a special bond with robotics prodigy Hiro Hamada. When a devastating turn of events puts them up against an evil foe, Hiro turns to Baymax and his diverse group of friends— adrenaline junkie Go Go Tomago, neatnik Wasabi, chemistry whiz Honey Lemon and fanboy Fred — who transform into a band of unlikely heroes. Featuring comic-book-style action and hilarious, unforgettable characters, the movie is fun for the whole family.

For more information about the event, contact the Parks and Recreation Department at (310) 802-5448 or via email.
