USC Band to Kick Off Richstone Pier-to-Pier Walkathon

Walkers and runners can register for the event by visiting RichstoneFamily.org. The registration fee of $25.00 includes an official Richstone Family Center t-shirt, access to all vendors, giveaways, photo booth and more. Check-in for the event begins at 7:00 a.m.; the walk from the Manhattan Beach Pier to the Hermosa Beach Pier and back begins at 8:00 a.m.
The annual walkathon is held to benefit the Richstone Family Center, which is dedicated to preventing and treating child abuse and trauma; strengthening and educating families; and decreasing violence in families, schools and communities of the greater South Bay area. The walkathon is timed to coincide with National Child Abuse Prevention Month in April.
Roger Van Remmen, CEO of Richstone Family Center said, "We are very fortunate to welcome Steve Lopes and the USC Band to the 28th Annual Walkathon, it's a great addition to our event. We here at Richstone are dedicated to building healthy and educated families and are walking one step at a time to do so while creating awareness for Child Abuse Prevention Month."
This year's event features healthy lifestyle vendors KIND Bar, Mamma Chia, Juice It Up! Poise Fitness, Diabolo Beverage, Health Ade, Grow Produce, 325 Coffee, YogaWorks, Lorna Jane and many others. Warm-up classes will be hosted by YogaWorks and Baby Bootcamp just before the walkathon kicks off at 8:00am.
