Mayor Powell Elected Chair of County Beach Commission

Manhattan Bech Mayor Wayne Powell was just unanimously elected to Chair the Los Angeles County Beach Commission.

Manhattan Beach Mayor Wayne Powell has just been unanimously elected to serve as Chair of the Los Angeles County Beach Commission for a one-year term. 

Powell, who was nominated to serve on the commission by L.A. County Supervisor Don Knabe and unanimously elected by the L.A. County Board of Supervisor in January 2010, was unanimously re-appointed for a second four-year term last year.

The Beach Commission, which 
advises the Board of Supervisors and the Los Angeles County Department of Beaches & Harbors on the operation, maintenance, development and promotion of County-owned or operated beaches from Malibu to Long Beach, and Catalina Island, meets on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 9:30 a.m. at Burton Chace Park Community Room, 13650 Mindanao Way, Marina del Rey.

Powell was first elected to the Manhattan Beach City Council in 2009 and is currently serving a second term as mayor.
