Mayor Wayne Powell is shown honoring KTLA Channel 5 news anchor/reporter Mary Beth McDade with the mayor's "I Heart MB" award in 2014.

Manhattan Beach Mayor Wayne Powell will give a State of the City address on Jan. 29 from 8-10 a.m. at the Knights of Columbus, 224 South Sepulveda Blvd., Manhattan Beach. Powell will take guests through the City of Manhattan Beach's accomplishments in 2014 and talk about the city's goals and initiatives for 2015 and beyond.

“Manhattan Beach is a magnificent community that we all love and call home,” says Powell, whose "I Heart MB" initiative has sparked acknowledgment and awards for community members. “The State of the City presentation will describe how our wonderful residents, non-profit community organizations and dedicated city employees all contribute to improve the quality of life in Manhattan Beach.”

The event is staged by the Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce, a 501©6 non-profit organization dedicated to driving a strong local economy by promoting the community, providing valuable business connections and representing business with government.

Tickets, which start at $35 for individuals with discounts for groups, are available on the chamber website.

Tin Roof Bistro will provide beverages.
