With the much-loved Annual Manhattan Beach Holiday Fireworks Festival set for Sunday, Dec. 14, families, friends and neighbors are awaiting the day with rapt anticipation.

The day gets started at 4 p.m. when the Skechers Snow Park opens for all who want to have some winter fun. Simply bring canned food, new unwrapped toys, or cash for the YMCA and The Friendship Circle Toy and Canned Food Drive for admission to this treasured slice of snow.

The Bounce Park also opens at 4 p.m., and live entertainment at 4 p.m. will be featured throughout the downtown area. The Hyperion Outfall Serenaders will launch their Dixieland Christmas at 4 p.m. The award-winning
Mira Costa High School Jazz Ensemble plays at p.m. and Joe's Band at 6 p.m. The fireworks display will go off at 7 p.m., rain or shine. The 26th Annual event will offer an extended fireworks display compliments of Belkin.

The fireworks show was voted Best Holiday Fireworks Show in the Nation on the Travel Channel's Jingle Brawls that originally aired in December 2013. In October, it was voted the Best Community Event in a contest sponsored by the Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce in its Best of Manhattan 2014 awards.

You can bring blankets, beach chairs and food as you stake out your spot to watch the fireworks.
