Caught up in the holiday bustle and wishing you had a moment to yourself? A "Heavenly Peace" meditation workshop to be held at Yoga Loft on Saturday, December 6, is designed to help you ease into the spirit of the season with mindfulness and calm.

Led by popular yoga instructor Kim Digilio, the workshop will lead participants through breathing techniques and restorative yoga poses that are designed to calm the nervous system and give a sense of quiet from outside pressures. The one hour and 45 minute workshop will begin with pranayama - breath movement - and will continue with restorative yoga and a guided Buddhist meditation called metta, or loving kindness.

"During this time of year we tend to focus on the end result of things: getting the best gifts, making the best cookies...We focus so much on the product, we lose sight of the process that makes the season so special," says Digilio.

"The workshop is really meant to be a way to tune out what’s happening in the rest of the world," she adds. "To drop all the plans, and the lists, and the events - and be present in that moment."

The workshop will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. and is open to participants at all levels; beginner to expert. The cost is $25 for those who register online ahead of time at $35 at the door.

Looking for even more relief from holiday pressures? Yoga Loft is also offering a "Holiday Healing Special" of 5 yoga classes plus a 1-hour massage for $110.

Yoga Loft is located at 1112 Ocean Drive in Manhattan Beach. Phone (310) 372-7334.
