MB Veterans Day Ceremony Honors Our Nation's Military

A crowd of veterans, active duty military, police and fire personnel, families, and children gathered for a ceremony at Veterans Parkway in Manhattan Beach on Tuesday in honor of Veterans' Day. Emceed by Mayor Wayne Powell, the ceremony featured music from the Hyperion Outfall Serenaders, as well as a Presentation of the Colors by the Manhattan Beach Police Department Color Guard.

Eric Farth of Manhattan Beach Boy Scout Troop #849 let the Pledge of Allegiance. Sharing their thoughts on Veterans' Day were Steven Lambert, also of Troop #849, and members of Girl Scout Troop #8425. LCPL Christopher Honanie of the Marine Corps gave an address, as did LCL Chris Barra.

Attendees were invited to write letters to send to troops stationed abroad and more than 200 letters were completed at the event.
