Looking for some of the best recipes from around the South Bay? Sandpipers, the local volunteer organization that leads philanthropic efforts across the South Bay, has published a new cookbook, "Tastes of the South Bay," featuring recipes from the area's top chefs. The cookbook will be released to the public at a November 18 party from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the The Strand House, where guests will be able to mix and mingle with some of the featured chefs.

Tickets to the party, which cost $75 per person, include one chef-signed cookbook, one signature cocktail, and tray-passed small bites from recipes featured in the cookbook. Local chefs slated to attend are Chris Garasic of Shade Hotel, Greg Hozinsky and Stephanie Franz of The Strand House, David LeFevre of Manhattan Beach Post, Brooke Williamson of Playa Provisions, Darren Weiss of Darren's Restaurant, Laura Mandracchia of Cake Bake Shop, and Michael Rubino of Simmzy's. All proceeds from ticket sales will go directly to Sandpipers.

Sandpipers is a 100% volunteer organization dedicated to serving the needs of the
South Bay community through charitable and philanthropic programs. Over its 83 years of service, it has led successful community projects such as scholarships, holiday baskets, the Sugar Plum holiday gift program, and a local community grant program. Its popular Holiday Homes Tour fundraiser will run from December 5 through December 7.
