A bicycle lane was installed on Rosecrans Avenue, eastbound from Highland Avenue on the Manhattan Beach side of the street, on Friday, November 7. The work included moving a lane line to create the bike lane. 

"The new bike lane on Rosecrans Avenue will make it much safer for bicyclists and motorists alike," said Mayor Wayne Powell, "and will still allow traffic to flow efficiently. I look forward to trying it out on my bike."

To encourage bicycling for transportation and recreational use, city officials have been working with other local groups, cities and regional entities to develop a bicycle plan.
