Diners at Tin Roof Bistro will enjoy an extra level of service on Wednesday, October 8, when police officers and professional staff from the Manhattan Beach Police Department partner with the restaurant’s staff for the annual “Tip-A-Cop” fundraiser from 5-9 p.m.

The fundraiser gives guests a memorable dining experience that raises tips and donations to benefit South Bay Special Olympics athletes.

Said Chief of Police Eve R. Irvine, “The Manhattan Beach Police Department is excited to continue our partnership with Special Olympics and help raise awareness and funding for this amazing organization and the awesome athletes who participate. By uniting with Tin Roof Bistro, in hosting a Tip-A-Cop event, we can go above and beyond in these efforts in showing our support to Special Olympics.”

“At Tin Roof Bistro, we are always looking for ways to stay deeply rooted within our community," said Julian King, general manager. "This is a wonderful event that benefits a great cause and great people. We are honored to be a part of it."

All tips made during the event are a tax-deductible donation to Special Olympics, which offers athletic training and competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities in the South Bay.

In June, Manhattan Beach police officers participated in the Law Enforcement Torch Run®, another event that supports Special Olympics. LETR is the largest grassroots fundraising effort benefiting Special Olympics, and MBPD has participated for several years.

Special Olympics fundraising events in the area include Tip-A-Cops, Polar Plunges, marathons, and a recent Plane Pull.

Tin Roof is located at 3500 N Sepulveda Blvd., Manhattan Beach. For dinner reservations, call the restaurant at (310) 939-0900.

For Special Olympics program information, call: Eloise Crawford, regional director, at (562) 502-1120.
