Koda Farms Brings Unique Products to the MB Farmers Market

Koda Farms grows rice in an environmentally friendly way.

You don't know anything about rice until you've encountered the likes of Koda Farms, which is now selling its gourmet rice products at the Manhattan Beach Farmers Market which goes until 4 p.m. today (Tuesday, September 9).

Brother and sister Ross and Robin Koda, who have enjoyed popularity at Northern California farmers markets, are ranging into the Southland as new additions in MB, Santa Monica and Torrance.

Koda offers a proprietary Organic Heirloom Kokuho Rose® brand Japanese style (medium grain) rice and a proprietary Organic Heirloom Whole Grain Brown Kokuho Rose® brand (medium grain) rice, both grown exclusively on Koda Farms since the 1950s.

Other products include Sho-Chiku-Bai® , "The Original, Pure Japanese Style Sweet Rice,"  and htree hypoallergenic rice flours: the Blue Star® Mochiko Sweet Rice Flour, Diamond K® Rice Flour, and the Kokuho Rose® Rice Flour (“Jyoshinko”). 

Each Koda Farms rice variety is available in conventional and California Certified Organic Farmers versions. The certified organic products are certified Kosher by KSA, GMO free, and Gluten free.

Koda Farms is a certified organic facility, with operating procedures and practices that are above and beyond conventional standards as mandated by the USDA.
