Organizations and businesses will be honored at an awards dinner when the Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce presents "The 2nd Annual Best of Manhattan" on Thursday, October 2 at the Manhattan Beach Marriott.

Voting for nominees ends Friday, September 5. Nominees were chosen by the chamber's awards committee and voted on by the community.

Tickets to the awards dinner, which features welcome cocktails, formal dinner and ceremony, cost $99 per person or $895 for a table of 10. The event goes from 6-9 p.m. on Thursday, October 2.

Awards will be given for: 

• Best of Manhattan - All-Around Winner
• Best Small Business 2014
• Best Shop 2014
• Best Community Event 2014
• Best Chef 2014
• Best Environmentally Sustainable Business 2014
• Most Philanthropic Business 2014

Nominees include Laura Mandracchia of Cake Bakeshop, Tin Vuong of Little Sister, Darren Weiss of Darren's Restaurant, Greg Hozinsky of The Strand House, and David LeFevre of Manhattan Beach Post and Fishing With Dynamite.

Other nominees include Bella Beach, Nikau Kai, Pages, Tabula Rasa, Trina Turk, Barsha, Two Guns Espresso, Hush Hush, OB's Pub & Grill, Trilogy, Fresh Brothers Pizza, Zislis Group, Skechers, Simms Restaurants, Grow - The Produce Shop, Growing Great, Grades of Green, Manhattan Beach Marriott, MBS Media Campus (Studios), Manhattan Beach Toyota, LA Car Guy, City of Manhattan Beach, Chevron, Continental Development Corporation, and Manhattan Village Shopping Center.
