MB Senior Little League Team Wins Thriller

The Manhattan Beach Senior Little League All Star team for 2014 is in the Western Regional finals.

David Arredondo brought home Rollie Nichols in the ninth inning to give the Manhattan Beach Little League Senior All Stars a 7-6 victory against Upland. The team faces a Hawaiian team from Central East Maui at 6 p.m. tonight in Ontario to see which team will head to the Little League World in Bangor, Maine.

With the score tied at six, an error scored Nichols.

Manhattan Beach held off an Upland team that was unable to overcome MB's final push to victory.

But Upland took an early lead, 1-0 in the 2nd inning that grew to 4-0 in the third. The MB team then scored one run in the fourth inning, two in the fifth and three in the seventh inning to tie the game at 6 after Upland had scored three runs in the top of the inning. 

In the fourth inning, the MB team scored on an RBI single by Ty Conrad, plating Arredondo.

The team's three-run seventh inning included an RBI single by Reese Alexiades, an RBI single by Matt Bessera, and an RBI single by Arredondo.
