Child Safety Info

Jun 23, 2014 11:47AM ● By Mb News Staff

The Manhattan Beach Police Department will photograph and fingerprint children at its annual Child Safety & Fingerprint Event Tuesday, June 24 at the Manhattan Beach Farmers Market downtown.

The department will also offer theft prevention information for community members. Info will also be available for those interested in volunteering with MBPD in the Youth Explorer Post Program, Neighborhood Watch, Victim Assistance Team and Volunteers in Policing.

"Manhattan Beach Police Department’s Kid Print Event is a service which is offered annually and free of charge to participants, said MBPD Officer Stephanie Martin. "The safety of our children is a priority for our department and we enjoy providing this program to our residents.

"In addition to fingerprinting and photographing of children, parents can learn more about how to protect their children, as well as, information about Manhattan Beach Neighborhood Watch and crime prevention strategies."

Typically, about 250 are photographed and fingerprinted at the annual event, according to the department.

The weekly MB Farmers Market is held from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesdays on 13th Street and Morningside Drive in downtown MB.
